Il Cielo Ristorante & Caffe

Il Cielo Ristorante & Caffe is a Italian restaurant situated in Bullcreek area.
Recently i have seen a lot of activity on my Facebook news feed on this restaurant, so i decided to go try this place out. They have introduced new menu's and prices for 2013 and deals including $10 to $12 3 course lunches (entrée, mains and dessert) and it changes every 2 weeks.

The restaurant is situated on the 2nd floor, when you first walk a flight of stairs lead you up to the restaurant.

The Restaurant is split into 2 sections and is quite large.
It has a "fine dining" atmosphere.

We decided to try the 3 course lunch meal.
It is a set lunch and you can choose between 2 Entrees and 2 Mains.

Fresh Basil and Tomato Soup with Garlic Bread

When the soup first came out it looked very oily, the consistency wasn't thick enough. It had a nice tomato taste but it could of been better.  The garlic bread was nice though.

Creamy Gherkin, Caramelized Bacon & Herb Roasted Potato Salad

When this was served to us, it looked less appetizing like they just plopped everything on the plate. But after trying it, it was delicious.  The bacon was nice and crunchy but couldn't taste any caramel because of how strong the sauce was. The potatoes were cooked beautifully, the creamy gherkin sauce was the star of this dish, it had great flavour and there was plenty of it!!

Penne Bolognese

The presentation of the dish looked amazing!!
The pasta and sauce was cooked beautifully and it was very tasty.

Fish and Chips with Tartare Sauce

I'm not really sure what type of fish and chips this is because normally the fish is covered in batter and deep fried.
We all learnt not to judge a book by its cover but this tasted exactly what it looked like. The fish was crispy and didn't taste nice at all. I took off the top crispy layer and it was very bland even when i dipped it in the sauce. The chips and salad was average. It was a quite disappointing dish.

Chocolate Panna Cotta with Hazelnut Sauce

This was my first time trying Panna Cotta and it was delicious. It had a smooth jelly like texture and wasn't too sweet. But where's the hazelnut sauce?

Although it has a nice atmosphere the food was inconsistent. Some were really good and others weren't.
I have read some reviews on this restaurant and it was a mixture of good and bad. So i guess it just depends on what you order.
